A review of Southey Social Club by Kenneth Webster written on Friday 30th of November 2018
I used to watch Southey some years ago , I think they were in the Meadowhall league then, played teams like Timbertop, etc and have lots of photographs of games me having an amateur photographer apptitude. If you want any for Southey history , football wise I am willing to supply them free. I used to to the water bottles a lot and run the line with the flag, now doubt the older players will remember me. Due to family commitments I was unable to keep up my following of the team so now I doubt if I know any of the todays team but I look in the Star to see how they are doing. I remember the centre forward Chris had a music shop in Hillsborough at the time. I know it used to get up many of the players etc but I am a life long Blades fan and still am. I see you play in Concord, when I watched them we played in Olive Grove ground the birth place of Sheffie FC I believe. Please fell free to contact me if you want any photos of my time and if I can get some time to watch them I will try but at 80 yrs old not so easy. Yours Truly Mr Kenneth Webster of Longley.
