"Ex forge worker."

I started working at Hillfoot Steel in late 1968 aged 15, fresh from school,

I worked in the drop forge on Bradfield Road Sheffield, starting on a 75 cw hammer as a hammer driver.

Through into the 70s I moved up in hammer weight, sometimes driving the 10 ton( this was the largest one there.

I eventually started working at the other side of forging , loading and running the furnaces on various hammers.

The time I had at Hillfoot, was one of the best work experiences I've ever had.

It's so good to see how the company is now doing,.

I wish you every success in the future with a firm Sheffield can be proud of..
